“Thantawan Industry” Installs Phase 2 Solar Cells, Aims to Lead in Eco-Friendly PackagingOctober 9, 2024
Thantawan Industry Public Company Limited or THIP, a manufacturer and distributor of international-quality packaging, is implementing the second phase of solar panel installation on buildings at
Om Yai factory in Nakhon Pathom province to produce clean energy from sunlight. The installation capacity is 2,188.75 kilowatts, expected to generate a maximum of 2,825,937 kilowatts per year, helping to reduce electricity consumption by an average of 15% annually and decrease greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 1,691.61 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent. The installation will begin in late August and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025. The electricity generated from the solar panels will be used in the production process and for general electricity consumption.
The company began installing the first phase of solar rooftop in 2020, making the entire project capable of producing up to 3,453,952 kilowatts of electricity per year, reducing electricity consumption by an average of 18% annually, and decreasing greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 2,067 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent in the first year.
The solar rooftop installation project aligns with the company’s goals for sustainable business operations, both environmentally and economically.
